Well theres several ways to connect "quickly" to the internet on the PS3. But this really depends on your speed. If you have a crappy Dial-Up, i dont even reckon you can log on to the PS3 network. But if you have DSL and stuff, you will get on quick.
1. Direct connect if you have only 1 Ethernet. (Not unrecommended) Well you can just plug the Ethernet from the DSL box to your PS3. But then you will have to switch back and forth which i despise.
2. Get a wired router and another Ethernet. So then you can plug in your DSL Ethernet to the WAN/LAN port, and the other Ethernet to your PS3.
3. Get a WIRELESS router. So you plug in the DSL Ethernet to the WAN/LAN port, and enable your PS3 to go wireless. Then enter the WEP key and your set.
I recommend a Linksys router.
