I am sick of playing my PS3 by myself. I want to get my PS3 online
because I want to play against other people. I want to know what I need to get my PS3 online and running. I have a broadband internet connection if that helps.

Your PS3 is ready to go online out of the box. You can use either a wired connection (simplest) or wireless (a bit more hard).
To get started, you’ll need to have a look at how your PC is connected to the internet. Does it plug into a router? If yes, does the router have any available ports on it in which you could plug another cable? If yes, then it’s as simple as running a network cable from your PS3 to the router.
The other option is to use a wireless router. All PS3s except the original 20GB model support wireless. It’s also possible that your internet company already gave you a wireless router (eg. mine gives them out for free). In that case, you can go into the PS3’s Network Setting, choose Wireless and then search for your router in the list of available networks.
