What are some good games for kids to play outside?

Any simple 2-3 player games, perhaps involving a ball, that kids could play outdoors?
Some stuff like 40/40 home or aiming and throwing coins into a bucket.

Eye Spy
Here's a game I loved to play when I was young.
We'd make a circle, (if we're more than 4), and the first player holds a ball. He questions any simple question, example : what's your favorite color and then throws the ball to anyone random in the circle. The person who catches the ball must answer the question, and then questions a different one and throws the ball to someone else.. and it goes on..
Some other suggestions are:
skipping the rope
grab an apple and place it on a spoon, two players race but without holding the apple, they have to make it to the finishing line without dropping the apple off the spoon. the winner races again but with a different player.
all the players tie a balloon to their shoe lace.. and the players have to try and burst each other's balloon… the last player left with the balloon tied to his shoe is the winner!!
if the kids are girls, and there is an even number of girls greater than 2, they could make a contest of who makes the loveliest make up on each other.. it'll be fantastic .. and then the mum gets to choose who made the prettiest make up.. but be honest!
here's another one i loved to play..
this game is called STOP. Someone turns his back to the other players and in the meantime, they have to walk very slowly towards the other player. But, the player, randomly, has to turn and yells STOP, and all the moving players has to stop walking and pretend that they are statues. The persons who dont manage to stay still, lose. The last person who manages to walk towards the player and touches his back before he yells STOP, is the winner!
i used to be a voluntary in a children's home, and the kids used to like those games!!
