Hotly Anticipated Games: Red Dead Redemption

If you own a PS3 and want to keep the Ancient West safe from bandits and ne’er do wells, then you should be getting ready to visit the game world of Red Dead Redemption. The trailer for this game just came out and it looks to be one of the very best games for the system that is to be released next spring.

Yes the game is a long way off, but it seems to have a few things going for it right now. The first thing is that you can expect there to be an epic tale. Westerns are known for having fantastic tales and because this game comes from Rockstar San Diego, makers of the Grand Theft Auto series, it is nearly guaranteed to have some sort of huge, overarching tale line for the gamer to play through. You can also expect a huge game world. Rockstar are known for making some of the largest open-world spaces ever to be place onto a console and this should be no different.

Expectations are also high for the voice acting. From the trailer, it looks like this game came straight off the Hollywood development line because the faces and the voices seem to be top notch. Again, Rockstar knows how to get the most out of the actors they use, and don’t be surprised if there are more than a few recognizable voices when the game does come out. Another plus that gamers can look forward is lots of gunfights and shootouts. The Ancient West was built on the shootout and Rockstar likes to place guns and violence into all of their games. It will hopefully lend a gritty, realistic feel to the world that will draw the player into the tale and make the game fantastic.

You can find the trailer on the Internet and the game releases on the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 in April of 2010. Personally, I can’t wait to hit people over the head with bar stools and be in a excellent ancient fashioned western bar fight.
